Mission

Steps To Joy Community Church was established through inspiration, by our faith, and commissioned to spread the Good News of hope, love, forgiveness and joy to men, women, children and families by encouraging spiritual growth in the hearts and lives of those we serve, allowing them to become loving and productive members of their communities; discovering renewed purpose, and leading them to abundant lives
that are healed and restored.

Ministries

Steps To Joy Community Church is invested in positive outcomes for our community. We believe that the best way to achieve that is to empower all members of our community with skill sets that they can use to enrich their lives and become productive members within their community. Our ministries are geared towards those who are marginalized in one way or another through incarceration, alcoholism and/or addiction, homelessness, and prolonged abusive or toxic relationships. Life Recovery
Bible Study

In The Gospel of John, Jesus came upon a man who had been an invalid for 38 years. He found him by a pool that was thought to have healing powers. Jesus asked the man what seemed like a strange question. “Would you like to get well?” (John 5:6 NLT). Conventional logic tells us that most people who are chronically sick want to get well, right? Unfortunately, some people are more comfortable with a familiar sickness than an unfamiliar solution. The man found the focus of his recovery in Jesus, after admitting he had no one left to help him. “I have no one to help me” (John 5:7 NLT). What he was really saying was, “I’ve tried everything else. This pool I’m laying by didn’t work. The finest doctors couldn’t help. I’ve played my last card. I’m out of options. Now I turn to you.”

Our Friday night Bible Study uses “The Life Recovery Bible” and is focused on and centered in how The Word of God is an integral part of recovery principles used by 12 Step Programs. If you are looking to grow your life fuller with God, strengthen your relationship with Jesus, and deepen the significance of your recovery effort this is the perfect group. Bibles are provided or “bring your own”.

Friday Evenings at 7:00 p.m.

Celebrate Recovery

"Since the beginning of time, men and women have searched for happiness — usually in all the wrong places, trying all the wrong things. But there’s only one place where we can find tested-and-proven, absolutely-gonna-work principles that will lead to healing and happiness. These principles come in the form of eight statements from the truest of all books — the Bible — and from the most revered Teacher of all time — Jesus Christ. Jesus laid out these principles for happiness in the Sermon on the Mount in the gospel of Matthew, Chapter 5. Today we call them “the Beatitudes.” Change, Jesus says, can be ours, but the pathway to change and happiness may not be exactly what we’re expecting. From a conventional viewpoint, most of the following eight statements don’t make sense"…

Fruits Of The Spirit
Women's Study

The Apostle Paul writes to us in The Book of Galatians and directs us that, “you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.” (Gal. 5:13 NLT) Paul continues on and encourages us to receive The Holy Spirit to guide our lives, and in that receiving, The Holy Spirit “produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control...”

(Gal 5:22-23 NLT)

Our Fruits of The Spirit Group is held on Monday Evening at 7:00 PM. We have set aside this study as a Women’s Group.

Please call us at 208.371.7504 or email Johanna @ johanna@stepstojoy.org for more information.

Prison Ministry

As Christians, we realize that those among us who are incarcerated may feel separated from a life filled with the joy of Jesus. As a result, many find themselves living in darkness. Prison Ministry allows us to disciple to those who are or have been incarcerated and are seeking a closer relationship with God. By sharing the hope, love, and promises of The Word of God, we carry the same message Jesus did in John 8:12; “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” (NLT)
